The first Key Stakeholder meeting was held in May 2008 in Brussels. At that time, EUFETEC was still known as “FTC” or “Feed Technology Center”. The various stakeholders from Industry, Universities & University colleges and Research Centers, took the first decisions that would lead to a EU questionnaire among feed business operators and the development of the EUFETEC Vision Document.
On the 15th of September 2008 there was the official launch of EUFETEC in Brussels, in the presence of Ministers-President Peeters of Flanders and a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers Laruelle, Minister of SME’s, Selfemployment, Agriculture and Science Policy.

With respect to the Research Pillar, in 2009 and 2010 EUFETEC responded to FP7 calls with respect to Sustainable Feed & Environment ("Field2Trough”) and with respect Feed & Food Quality and Safety (“BENEFEED”).
From 2010 onwards EUFETEC decided to develop activities with respect to the pillars “Training” and “Service Provision”. Development of an E-learning tool fits within this picture.
EUFETEC is as well a member of the Animal Task Force (ATF).
